CVM Transport
CVM Transport

A Single Tube That Does Many Jobs!

Difficult organisms are no problem for Hardy's CVM Transport. The CVM has been extensively tested to assure viability for at least 48 hours* for the following organisms:

Herpes Simplex, Type I and II
Cytomegalovirus*
Influenza A and B
Respiratory Syncytial Virus
Echovirus
Adenovirus
Chlamydia trachomatis and pneumoniae
Mycoplasma hominis and pneumoniae
Ureaplasma urealyticum

Now Approved for Room Temperature Transport!

Although the uninoculated CVM Transport is stored in the refrigerator, once the specimen is collected, it may be transported at refrigerator or room temperature for up to 48 hours*.

Each tube contains 2ml of a transport media with protein and a pH indicator. Selective antimicrobials are included to inhibit yeasts and most contaminating bacteria. The transport media is packaged in a tough, break-resistant, polypropylene centrifuge tube, with a secure screw-cap.

CVM Transport may be purchased as tubes only or as a kit. The kit consists of a transport tube, a dacron swab (swab features a scored shaft that easily breaks so the swab portion remains in the medium) suitable for female specimen collection, and a data sheet; packaged in a zip bag.

*Transport of Cytomegalovirus at room temperature should not exceed 24 hours; if refrigerated, should not exceed 72 hours .
