EnteroScreen 4™
The simple, easy and accurate one tube system for screening of stool specimens for
Salmonella
and
Shigella
species. EnteroScreen 4™ is specifically designed to rule out normal enteric flora and to aid in the detection and the differentiation of
Salmonella
and
Shigella
species. Three media, Modified Lysine Iron Agar, Lysine Iron Agar (LIA), and Urea Agar, are used to screen non-lactose fermentors isolated from stool specimens. This battery of tests is helpful in differentiating
Salmonella
and
Shigella
from other members of the Enterobacteriaceae family. Hardy Diagnostics EnteroScreen 4™ contains a unique media combination, which has been demonstrated to be less redundant and less labor intensive; yet equivalent in performance to the traditional three tube set.
Why Choose the EnteroScreen 4™
Time Savings - Inoculate only one tube per specimen instead of the classical 3 to 4 tubes. Quickly eliminate your negatives.
Accuracy - Found to be 100% accurate for
Salmonella
and
Shigella
when challenged against 218 clinical specimens and over 24 serotypes.
Convenience - You can pick colonies directly from the modified LIA slant for antisera confirmation.
Economical - Priced far less then other screening methods. Compare the cost savings to an API strip, Vitek, or Microscan card.
Ease of Use - Simply use your inoculation needle and penetrate the four layers in the tube, then remove and incubate. The urea agar can come up positive in as early as 6 hours.
