HardyCHROM Candida

A new study by Schreckenberger and Rekasuis concluded:

"HardyCHROM™Candida performed better that the BBL CHROMagar™ Candida in that the chromogenic pigments showed a darker, richer, more intense color, as well as better colony growth at 24 hours. In addition, HardyCHROM™ Candida has an indication for Candida glabrata when used in conjunction with the GlabrataQuick ™ kit.The chromogenic medium is easy to use, accurate and a cost effective method to use in the laboratory for identifying the most commonly encountered Candida species in clinical specimens."

Tastes Like Chicken?

But is it really chicken?

McNugget

Well, about 50% of it is chicken. The highly processed Chicken McNugget also contains some surprises. The contents of the remaining 50% is listed below:

White boneless chicken containing:

  • water
  • modified food starch
  • salt
  • autolyzed yeast extract (includes a high percentage of MSG)
  • wheat starch
  • natural flavoring (botanical source)
  • safflower oil
  • dextrose
  • citric acid
  • rosemary
  • sodium phosphates
  • canola oil
  • monoglycerides
  • diglycerides
  • extractives of rosemary

Battered and breaded with:

  • water
  • enriched flour (bleached wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid)
  • yellow corn flour
  • food starch-modified
  • salt
  • leavening (baking soda, sodium acid pyrophosphate, sodium aluminum phosphate, monocalcium phosphate, calcium lactate)
  • spices
  • wheat starch
  • whey
  • corn starch

Prepared in:

  • Canola oil
  • corn oil
  • soybean oil
  • hydrogenated soybean oil
  • tertiary butylhydroquinone (TBHQ), a preservative

  • citric acid
  • dimethylpolysiloxane added as an antifoaming agent, also found in "silly putty"
The Chicken McNugget is made from chickens that are too old to lay eggs. These chickens are stripped down to the bone, and then "ground up" into a chicken mash then combined with a variety of stabilizers, binders, chemicals, and preservatives, pressed into familiar shapes, breaded and deep fried, frozen and shipped to your local fast food establishment.

Incidentally, ingesting only one gram of TBHQ used in the frying oil can cause  "nausea, vomiting, ringing in the ears, delirium, a sense of suffocation, and collapse," according to " A Consumer's Dictionary of Food Additives. " Ref 1 , Ref 2 , Ref 3

Bon appetit!

Think about it...
The Thinker
  • If ATM stands for Automatic Teller Machine, why do we call it an "ATM machine"?
  • Why are there locks on the door of stores that are open 24/7 365 days a year?
  • If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn?
  • Why are there Braille dots on a drive-through ATM keypad?
  • Is there another word for synonym?
  • If the #2 pencil is the most popular, why is it still #2?

Stock chart

_____ Dow Jones Industrial average
_____ Dow adjusted for government calculated CPI
_____ Dow adjusted for real inflation per shadowstats.com

It may seem encouraging that the Dow Jones has rallied as much as 74% from its low in March of 2009. However, when adjusted for real inflation, the Dow Jones is about equal to where it was in 1963! Stock market gains have been due to nothing but inflation. Source : National Inflation Association
